"Cosi Fan Tutte" at the Winspear
I love opera-the costumes, the make-up, the orchestra, the set designs, the staging and acting, the world-class voices-nothing is missing! I love Dallas' new setting for opera, the Margo and Bill Winspear Opera House, with its red reflections and amazing retracting chandelier. What I do not like is having to sit for over 3 hours while the story line moves slowly along.

Voices of Change with Carole Leone
Voices of Change is a professional chamber music ensemble group in Dallas founded by Jo Boatright and Ross Powell in 1974. It premiers and features contemporary music and introduces new composers of our time. Last night’s performance titled Time After Time is the second Voices concert I attended this season performed in Caruth Auditorium at Southern Methodist University. They are currently in their 35th season. I went to the pre talk with Laurie Shulman, a very engaging speaker, who explained the music on the evening program. She also writes programs for...

Blue Candlelight - An intimate Music Series
The cello and the French horn are my favorite instruments. There is just something about that tenor line in the texture of the music. 3. Mix practicing sections and the whole piece. First practice in sections until you can do it without mistakes, move on to the next section, and so forth, and eventually the entire piece.

Dedication of the Dobson Organ To Highland Park United Methodist Church
This past weekend I had the distinct pleasure of attending the concerto concert dedicating the new 5.5 million dollar organ at Highland Park United Methodist Church. To say that is was thrilling would be an understatement! This fine instrument has power and richness, so much so that at times we could physically feel the vibrations-and the chill bumps! With never a thin, cutting sound, but always a rich, versatile sound at any dynamic, this organ delighted a standing-room-only crowd at 6 p.m. last Sunday night.
